Hi Everyone,
We are moving to Sarasota from Miami in April and we are so excited. We have been trying to get there for over eight years now and things are just now falling into place. Can anyone give me some guidance on the movie theaters in the area? We never go down here because people don't know how to behave (talking on cell phones, kids running around, etc.) We moved here 4 years ago from Michigan (by way of Ocala) and we were in Georgia for 10 years before that and had never witnessed such lack of consideration.
Also, can you tell me about the Regal Stadium 20 on Main Street? I was given a couple of tickets and would like to use them there if the place is okay. Thanks for your advice on this and for all of the other great information I have gotten on this forum!

Here is a list of the movie theaters in the area. I really like the theaters on Main St in Sarasota although on Friday and Saturday nights there can be quite a few kids by the theaters downtown. If you enjoy foreign films go check out Burns Court Cinemas.

Thanks, SoFLGal. It's good to know there's lots to choose from. Didn't mean to sound like a grumpy old fart (my husband and I are only 47 and 45, respectively). We love to be around people of all ages. When I say kids running around and cell phones, I mean, literally, little children running in the theater during the movie while their parents talk on cell phones (I kid you not). Sounds like we won't have that problem in SRQ.

If you want a list of all the cinemas check out this website. You can type in your zip code and it will list all the theaters, and the movies that are playing and the times they are playing.

We usually go to the Regal Hollywood 20 on Main St or the AMC at Sarasota Square mall on 41S. We've never encountered any talking in the theater or cell phones ringing so far. We take in a few movies a month.
Movie Theater Showtimes Near 34239 shows several movie theaters in the Sarasota area.
Can't speak for the other ones, but you should be able to enjoy the show in either of these.
If you like the dollar movies, I recommend the Parkway 8 at Lockwood Ridge and Fruitville.
