My husband and I want to relocate near Siesta Key. Does anyone know how to find a good headhunter in banking? Also we would strongly consider working together running a hotel or some kind of business. Just checking out our options as so many of you are.

What kind of hotel are you looking for getting involved with? There's management positions currently open for existing chains. But maybe that's not to your liking. Please elaborate on your thoughts.
You might also want to try striking up a DM with LeavingMA2010 since she is in the luxury hotel industry and moving to the Siesta area real quick..

As for headhunters, I've found more opportunity with marketing yourself using job postings and the Herald Tribune than with an agency. Some of the recruiters are not interested in working actively with out of state candidates but I'd be willing to take a phone call myself from someone who is!

I think Zara is pretty right on with this one.

Man, that's tough....I know very little about that area. But I do know that I have a friend that was looking for a headhunter for pharmaceutical sales and she was told by several of them that they would rather represent the employer rather than the employee because that is how they make their money. Very few headhunters, especially with unemployment the way that it is, seem to want to take on personal clients. But your husband is in a different industry so it might be different!

Wish I could offer more advice on this one. Wasn't there someone that posted on City-Data a month or so ago that was looking for a job and really raved about a certain employment website? Does anyone remember what that site was? It wasn't one that I've ever heard of like Monster or anything. I had saved it in my favorites but have since had to reinstall my operating system and lost them all.

Sorry to hear about that SoFLGal! If you're remembering a rave about a site, it was likely mine because it was a little less than a month or so ago when I listed some in my thread. I don't remember anyone else talking about websites back then or I would have noticed.

Here's a link to my post (if it's any help)

Most of the banks are not hiring. If they lose a position they are NOT replacing it at the moment. I know from an inside source.
