I lived in Florida in the 80s, it sure was differant then. I moved from Michigan when it was on its knees and Florida never skipped a beat. Now there does not seem to be a safe place. If my home sells I would like to move to the Sarasota Ft. Myers area. My wife does title work for home sales. I am afraid this is a dead issue for a few years. She is taking college to get a deg. in accounting. How is work in this area? I see home prices tumbling so it would be an ok time to buy.

Work in the area is like being in MI but surrounded by palm trees instead of slush....but seriously....if you've got back up $, great....be prepared to see hundreds of applicants applying for the same jobs...I'd secure work prior to arrival if you & your wife need jobs...college is always a good idea, but in Florida, it's not always going to land you the job, your work record will....we're totally full of unemployed M.A.'s, Phd's and so forth...read the posts about employment searches...

Actually we are selling lots of homes. If your wife can get in with a title company that processes foreclosed properties she will stay quite busy. As far as other lines of work ,the outlook is not so great. Just like other parts of the country many people are out of work. I would not move here without securing a job first.
