My neighbor is a landscaper and he seems to say pretty busy. You might want to try to start up your business in the summer time when it rains a lot. Many people cut their lawn services off in the winter because the grass really doesn't grow much. You could build up some clientèle in the summer and then hopefully they'd stay on with you in the winter. Just an idea...

I would look to Sarasota county for schools. We live in Sarasota county and really like the school system.
