I agree it is very childish behavior like name calling or na na na na nah....I know how to spell and you don't. Name calling is not allowed so digs about bad grammer takes it's place. Does it make one feel superior because someone else didn't use spell check? Nothing better to contribute possibly or maybe they use cd as sort of a spelling game where they run through all the posts looking to find all the mispelled words and win a prize. Some people are just anal that way....always correcting others, who knows why.

Poor grammar embodies the poster. If your post is riddled with misspells and poor grammar then it lessens your credibility and speaks volumes about the Florida school system. When I encounter someone in this forum who is challenging yet can't even run his/her own spell-checker, I think I'm being challenged by an empty-headed illiterate.

Good grammar is good etiquette. Why don't people understand that?

I agree, even if you are not proficient in spelling and grammer it only takes a couple of seconds to run spellcheck. It not only corrects your mistakes and errors, but you may learn something. Poor grammer shows a lack of respect for the language and your audience. That being said, I hope I didn't make any mistakes LOL

How about tolerance and patience? Try to read the message and address the intent with respect and sincerity. Oh, and you can have some fun along the way too. That's ok.

LOL well you did. Did you spell check ? ...Grammar is AR not ER.

But I never care about spelling and "mistakes". Spellcheck takes too long for my personality. And I have software on my computer that changes spellings sometimes when I don't want it to and it actually spells things wrong if it's misunderstanding the context.

It also underlines in red if you have a spelling error and if you care, you can correct it as you go.

I dont see any correlation of spelling or grammar to etiquette. Etiquette is the treatment of others and the weakness of someone in spelling or grammar doesn't make them rude or anything else. How is that? Unless a person is using street language intentionally to be obnoxious or have a "style".

Proper spelling and correct grammar show respect for your reader, and that it what etiquette is all about.

Sorry but, I don't feel that because you have poor spelling or poor grammar that it means to do not respect your reader. There are many people that were never given the opportunity to get an advanced education, and lack the skills of proper grammar and spelling. Many don't know if they have good grammar, or when they mis-spell a word. It does not mean that they lack respect. Many times I have mis-typed things, and it doesn't mean I'm disrepecting anyone!

B.S. err I mean BH (maybe that was a typo)

LOL, sorry, just being funny to lighten the thread a bit.

Sure, we all misspell things once in a while.

Lack of education? I don't buy it. If you have completed grade school, you've learned grammar. It's not hard to learn on your own either. A little effort is good for the soul.
