Have you done a search for threads? I think there may be a few. Wish I could be of more help, but the closest I get is snorkeling.

Bradenton has a ship wreck-the Regina or old sugar barge. The barge is about 100 yards off Bradenton Beach. It's easily located above the surface because you can see the metal post that sticks up out of the water.

Here's a link that tells about the old Regina molasses sugar barge. The Regina wreck is located directly out from SeaTrek Dive Shop on Bradenton Beach. Here's a MapQuest of the location:

Closer to Tampa you have the Sheridan wreck: http://www.florida-scubadiving.com/sheridan.html (broken link) Probably the best diving spot in the area.

and the Blackthorn wreck: http://www.shipwreckexpo.com/flwestblackthorn.htm & http://www.florida-scubadiving.com/blackthorn.html (broken link)

and the Gunsmoke: http://www.florida-scubadiving.com/gunsmoke.html (broken link)

Many people dive just off the beach in Venice. The attraction is large fossilized sharks teeth, many of which are the size of your hand. Most people that find the large teeth will dive from shore. I see most of the divers working about 150ft off shore in about 15ft of water. The concentration of divers is from Venice ave beach access to Alhambra. There are several small coral outcroppings in the area.
