Until Easter sunday, a gang violence happen , over 10,000 people were sun bathing on beach, I guess from what I read it was 3 people shooting and injured, 40 police were there.
I doubt it I will go there again. It was a Coquina Public beach .

It happens every year at Coquina Beach....no big surprise to those of us who reside in Manatee County....

If I were you, I wouldn't leave the house anymore because guess what? It can happen anywhere......sorry about being a littel defensive but, just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there!

I had no idea, My boys and I went to that beach for years as they grew up and never saw a gang or bad looking duds. I guess that tells me why 40 police officers were at the beach that day.

*shrugs*

I haven't stopped going to the beach. I will never let other peoples actions at the beach stop me from doing my thing. I'll even be out there, next Easter. I live in East Bradenton where shootings happen all the time. The beach would be a safe getaway spot. :P

Folks, if you aren't involved with the people who are doing these shootings, you probably won't ever have to worry about getting wounded or shot at. It's rare that innocent people having nothing to do with the gangs, get caught in cross fire. Don't you notice that these young gang-bangers/drug dealers are mainly just harming and killing each other? Let them do what they do best, lol. They aren't worried about you.

Anna Maria Island is one of the most beautiful places in Manatee County. Even with the Easter shooting and last year's murder-suicide, it's still one of the safest areas around. This **** doesn't happen often!

Where was the Murder suicide, which beach and what happen? I never saw it in paper?
I love the t-shirt shop with the big talking birds in front of the store as you turn the corner to get to Anna maria Island. I love the area.

Hmmm..maybe it was the year before last. Thought it was last year. Anyway, it happened in pretty much the same place as Easter's shootings. It actually happened in the roadway next to Coquina Beach. A guy killed his girlfriend in a fight and then himself.

It was in front of the same beach, right before you go over the bridge to Longboat Key.

I don't know if the m/s was in the regular papers, might have been just island...but it tied up traffic for about six hours....terrible incident...boyfriend/girlfriend domestic with drugs involved, as usual, in Bradenton....I hate too sound so "matter of fact" about the "with drugs as usual" but every incident involving a crime here, involves drugs....

AMI is full of drugs...you'd never know it though.
