I'm thinking that we could probably do a boat tie-off party near a dock-side bar someplace. Any ideas where would be a good place, where people could jump in and swim or float on tied off tubes if they wanted to. Of course, people don't have to swim. We could kinda make a day / party out of it. Your boat, mine, Pats, and maybe a few others that have them can join in. Our CD friends would be welcome. If it isn't too far from the dock, we can more easily shuttle people to our party, and back, and we wouldn't be too far from supplies (more beer) if we need it. Plus it would give people a place to park. - OR - Maybe we could find a park where they have picnic tables or grilles where we could dock or tie up after and have a cook-out? That would give people that are a tad nervous about boats a chance to join in, and we could give boat rides to kids as well, if they come later. That would also make it easier for people to bring some side dishes, hot dogs, hamburgs, and more Yeungling (if needed!)

It may take some doing to coordinate that event. I have lots of life jackets (we'd need one per person - whether anyone really needs one or not) wearing them would be optional - we just need to make sure we all have our safety equipment. It won't be till after the beginning of, or mid-September when I'll be able to get things together for an event like this - even if I can pop down sometime.

We'd need to get a firm head count for those that come, because of the boat capacity limits - it may have to be a first commitment/come basis. I would also suggest that we could have one for most of us, and another one that is more family and kids oriented (no alcohol for that one).

Who knows, this could lead to other outings / and fishing competitions. We could pick CD fishing teams and generate a trophy or something to award to the winning team.

Just a thought!

That all sounds great, Id hate to horn in on your boat party-and it sounds like it may be quite a hike from Bradenton..if it's nearby though we'd love to be included.. I guess it all depends on a sitter and such Id prefer to leave the little one at home for a boat party..My hubby (BigTuna) would love to be part of the fishing fun--Otherwise, a BBQ somewhere would be really great!!

We like to go out for the whole day. I was thinking he would like to join us as one of the team members! I draft Big Tuna for my team! With a name like that we gotta win.

We would love to come to a party like that! No boat here but we will bring food and booze! We can come with or without kids. Not ready for a fishing outing as of yet but that sounds great, too!
