Hi!

I am interested in hearing (knowledgeable) comparisons between these two schools. Obviously ODA is private -- but taking that out of the equation (fantasizing that tuition is not an issue, for the moment), what would be the various pros and cons of each school, esp. as compared to each other?

I have children who would qualify for PV but may or may not thrive there, because at least one is highly gifted artistically and verbally (i.e. in all subjects related to English, social studies, etc.) but not as comfortable with math -- and she is also very sensitive and may not thrive in a highly pressured environment.

Just very interested to hear what people have to say -- also would welcome comparisons at the different levels (elementary, middle, high) as discrete entities because let's face it, kids' needs change with maturity.

My vote is for PV. I have two kids that go there and we have been there for seven + years. You can search PV and come up with a bunch of threads where I have given my point of view on PV.

I don't have any kids that go to ODA so I'll refrain from commenting on that school.

You can go to www.greatschools.com and see what people have said about the schools. I would make an appointment to visit both schools and see what your feeling is after your visit.

My oldest kid is very artistic and attends PV. Their high school art teacher, Ms Lauer is phenomenal and very involved in the arts community locally. My oldest will probably be attending Ringling Art School in Sarasota once she graduates next year.

Me, too. ODA is on our visit list.

How hard is it to get into Pine View? If I understand correctly, you have to be selected.
