Can anyone tell me what the lowest priced broadband Internet provider there is in my area, Osprey, FL? I would prefer either DSL or cable. I have heard of DSL without phone service and that would be great since I use a cell phone anyway.

That's a darn shame. Only 2 options for this area? I thought for sure there were more, but looking on Google, I couldn't find anyone else either. Wish there were as I'm thinking about moving to the neat little town soon.

Hey, Osprey Gal, think we should start our own broadband biz? What do ya think?

I'm in Sarasota and have a dry loop (DSL w/o phone service) with Verizon for $20 a month.

Default Teleblend

Take a look at TeleBlend Your Local Broadband Phone Company - Home. I use them for phone service and love it. A great value. I see that they are now offering high speed internet. Might be worth a try.

Thank you everyone for the options you have given me. I didn't know I could get "dry" DSL from Verizon for $20. I will certainly go that route as it looks to be the cheapest option. Thanks davery5872 for the suggestion. And, Schemckel, you start the broadband biz and I will be your secretary!

I have DSL, and have been wondering the same thing. Since they have Verizon, do they have FIOS in the Osprey area? Does anyone know?

We're in Nokomis and they have it here. I'm betting FiOS is in Osprey too. You can check only via phone number/address, I think.

Is the $20 for Dry DSL without the phone service? Because on Verizons website, it says $34.99 if you want dry DSL without phone service.

Yep, that was for DSL only, w/o a phone line. I called, instead of signing up online. You may want to call.
