Anybody read this one?

New rules on short sales could help housing market

Some of this is pretty incredible, especially in the case of the people having an 85K pending offer on the condo, only to be told that the property sold as a foreclosure for much less. In other words the lender foreclosed on the property while there was a pending offer on the table and without even a notice?

What legal recourse is available to them? Anyone know?

Lots of foreclosures in the pipeline so why even look at short sales

I agree with Peter. Why go through all of the hassles with a short sale when there are plenty of foreclosures on the market and coming up. They are generally a lot less hassle and wait time than short sales.

guess it depends on what people are looking for in a house/neighborhood

if they are just shopping for investment purposes then a foreclosure is obviously the better choice but if they are buying for a home...I guess sometimes it does make a difference IF they think they can get the short sale within their parameters...
