Yep. I stay on the north end about 3/4 of a mile up from the main beach and it's very very nice up there plus walking distance to the shops and restaurants.

There is a small public parking lot there with beach access but it only holds 6-8 cars so it fills up plus if you don't have a unit there you don't have the bathrooms etc. like at the public beach.

Last time there I rented a Kayak for a week and just kept it chained out front to the sea wall. Worked like a charm and I got to kayak and see manatees etc.

Sounds about where I was for the wedding I had never been up that way and was surprised it was still as pretty and more serene than the main Siesta Beach although I do love the main beach, but sometimes you just want a beach to yourself

Turtle beach is wonderful.. I lived in my motor home for ten years right on Turtle Beach at the small campground there.. It is owned by Sarasota County now and they have made some improvements while still keeping the old Florida feel..

You can camp there in an RV or tent camp . One month is the longest you can stay..
Waking up to the waves lapping the shore is incredible..
Walk the beach , collect shells , sea glass and sharks teeth.
Fish from shore.
If only visiting for a day there are rest rooms , picnic tables, grills, play area for kids.

Across the small street there is a great place to grab a bite to eat.
Turtle Beach Pub, and also Turtles Restaurant..

Holidays are busy , but summer months are not.
Some mornings just a few people on the beach ..
You can check out the campground on
Http://www.scgov.net
That is Sarasota's web site .. Go into Beaches
Or Parks and Recreation
