I did a search and got everything from across the country so thought I'd just ask you folks.

Our new house in North Port doesn't have a swimming pool (yet) but we may put in a small one at some point. Our home has a well, do you fill the pool from the well or do you risk running it dry? Do the wells ever run dry? Sorry if this is a stupid question but we've never had a well before, always city water.

A well can run dry, but filling a small pool won't likely be the reason. It depends a lot on the depth of the well and the current water conditions, and the pressure within the well. I'd say you're pretty safe to fill the pool with it.

I didn't know the answer so I called Jerry over at Casa Pools in PC. He said that they just hook the hose up to the well and fill the pool. Jerry said that they have never had the well run dry filling the pool.

Thank you both so much. Now when we get moved and I start bugging DH for a pool I have the answer when he tells me we would run our well dry!
