i'll be in sarasota with my mom next week. i want to show her the area and she is helping me TCB. I've only been to one restaurant there, the philipi creek place with the big shark hung out front. i had fun and a good meal there but we were a big group. This is just going to be the 2 of us. It was still chilly then too. Now that it's warmed up maybe a beachy grill? Can you recommend a place? thanks!! also if you know of anything particularly interesting going on next friday that would be great. We'll be done with business by 5 or 6. THANKS!

We went to Tommy Bahama's on St Armands the other day. Ate outside on the upstairs balcony. Great service, Terrific food and good people watching. I had the fish taco's, very tasty.

St. Armand's came to my mind too. Crab & fin is one of my favorite restaurants over there. I like to sit out in the patio when it's nice. Love the portobello mushroom sandwich. A few other ideas on the circle are-The Columbia, love the 1095 salad. Café L'Europe is pretty decent too. You have to stop in Kilwins for ice cream, it's to die for!

The you could check out Main St, downtown. There are a ton of restaurants there. Have fun while you're here

There's usually enough parking when I'm there. There are quite a few spaces on the side street right before the Crab & Fin. One of the shop owners must own a Ferrari because I always see a bright red one when I park on that street.

I haven't been to the circle at night for quite some time, so I can't speak about that. I'm usually there in the afternoon with clients.

thanks!! i'm looking forward to my trip even if it is 90% business and only 1 day! but hey, that's part of the FL appeal for me - I know I can visit my NY family easily and go back and forth when needed it makes the distance feel a little smaller

Definitely St. Armand's! And you can't go wrong with any of the restaurants. And yes, you MUST go to Kilwin's - best ice cream on the planet, and I've tried them all! And the fudge ain't bad, either!
