Signed our contract in January--played games for so long..and the bank wanted money from us before they accept our bid, and we gave it to them. Then, they discussed it and decided they wanted more money. So, we gave them more. Now, the EX WIFE has decided not to sign anymore paperwork to submit. She is rethinking the whole short sale and is leaning towards filing bankruptcy instead, allowing our beautiful dream home to fall into foreclosure. AND isn't that breach of contract??? ALL the while, the realtors, and lawyers and ex-husband and BUYERS are waiting for this disaster to be over..I just want our house, and I am feeling the alcoholic in me taking over. Just sharing to get input, support, prayers-whatever..

That sounds like a really messed up situation, especially when it involves a divorced couple. My mom and dad bought a house from a couple that were in the midst of a divorce, and it was a messy, long drawn out thing too.

Try to not get overwhelmed by it. If it should not work out, remember that there's something better for you down the road, and that this situation is just the practice you need for it.

Thanks, it's been so hard. The short sale market is so competitive. This is the 3rd contract we have had on a home.. weve been trying to buy for over a year. This is THE ONE.. nothing wrong with it, beautiful yard, neighborhood, great schools, kids around, close to family..and now, this! To lose to a bank is one thing, to lose because the seller changes his mind. UNCOOL

I've heard short sales are really complicated, and in this case extremely complicated. I hope that it all works out for you, since it seems to be the house that fits your needs.

I agree with Col. As disheartening as it is, if this doesn't work out, one day you'll be thankful because either there's something better for you or there's some reason this house is not for you. Things work out for the best, hang in there!

Exactly. It all works out in the end.

Try to maintain your perspective...the only reason to mess with a short sale in the first place is the better price you might get, and in exchange for that potentially better price, as you know, you get...a potentially awful headache.

As one wise poster said, this will all work out in the end. Just try to stay positive.

Thanks, I told my husband today, if I can't have that house, then right now isn't the time. I don't want a different house..if it doesnt happen, then there are reasons. The reasons may not hit us for a few years but we will realize them when they happen..I just hope we get it..
