Love key lime pie, trying to find the perfect one in the nearby area. Nothing too deep into Sarasota as we live in Bradenton...Tried Yoders and found it a bit too sweet. Looking for something not too sweet, more creamy, not gritty..preferably with a very light topping..

Yummmm Any ideas?

I like the "Edwards" brand that is frozen at the grocery store. Publix makes a decent one as well.

Caribbean Pie Company on Main St. Yoder's actually has two key lime pies. One is a traditional and one is like their famous pies, lots of cream on top.

I don't know if that's the same Caribbean Pie Company that used to be on Stickney Point / Clark (~12 years ago), but if it is they had some great pies back then.

I think it's the same. I think they closed for awhile and then reopened in Nokomis. Then moved to Main St.

Great pies!

I like key lime pie sometimes. I have been surprised with how good the Publix bakery is. I am fond of cheese cake, and they do a really good authentic job at making a New York Style plain cheese cake. When I was in Denver, there was a restaurant called "The House of Pies". I believe it is a chain. They always had 30-40 different pies - all of them outstanding! I tried to go there everyday, and since I was running about 5 miles a day, and into sports, my girlish figure did quite well. I wish they were here in SWFL! But, if they were, I think I might have to enlarge the front door and install a double french door so I could waddle in.

Thanks! Now I've been thinking about key lime pie all day. I'm not going to be back in Florida for three weeks. What am I going to do?

The key lime pie from Publix is what I go for every time we are in Florida. So good...but I'm not a local...yet...

Interesting, I tried Yoders and it was just a bit too sweet for me.. the Edwards is decent, but a bit gritty. Perhaps I should lean more towards a Key Lime Cheesecake since I prefer a creamier pie. I will try Publix Yummmm nothing like that creamy limey coolness on a hot day!
