Default Stay inside

It is cool in the bars and shops on River Street.

One of the hottest times of year down there. I would wait until October--take a haunted tour.

It's very hard to find parking in downtown Savannah for the fireworks. Unless you know the city, or have a hotel within walking distance, you might have to do some serious searching and walking to get to the river for the show.

You might want to arrive before dark, if you plan to attend.

If you opt for the fireworks at the beach, plan for a 2-3 hr. drive back afterwards. I've known unsuspecting locals who drove to the fireworks on Tybee only to get stuck on one side of the island and taking a couple of hours to get home on the other end. Could have walked or biked much faster.

As far as haunted pub crawls, etc., the 4th would probably be a bad time to do it. You could try calling one of the tour companies because I might be wrong. Then you could make advance reservations.

Default 4th of July

Heard about an event at the Lucas Theater on the 4th ...music prior to fireworks...and then reserved seats at the fireworks ..heard on a local tv station yesterday ...there was a charge but don't remember how much

I agree with the prior postings ..hard to find parking downtown on the 4th

I have done the Haunted Pub Crawl ..enjoyed it ..might want to do on another day though ...not on the 4th ..
