My grown daughter and I want to buy either two duplexes or one quadraplex in Savannah, live in one, rent the other, etc. Although born and raised in Savannah, it's changed much since 80s when I left. Basically, we're looking in the gentrified or about to be gentrified areas around the Victorian District but are also looking in Ardsley Park and other areas.
I've been told don't look at anything on the streets with state names nor in the Oak Forest area, could anyone comment on this?
I've read several of the questions and comments about relocating so have a general idea about downtown streets, but am clueless about the two areas mentioned above.
Would really appreciate feedback.

The state streets are situated between Pennsylvania Ave and Bonaventure Rd. They're kind of druggy close to Penn and relatively nice close to Bonaventure. Never heard of Oak Forest.

Don't know for sure, but I don't think the area with state streets would have the type of house that you are looking for. It's a single family home type area. I wouldn't waste time even thinking about it.

I can't think of an Oak Forest location either. The other areas that you mentioned might turn out to be your best bet.

Default Duplexes

You're welcome to shoot me an email at Matthew@kw.com if you'd like some suggestions. I'm a real estate agent who lives and works in Savannah's historic districts. No pressure.
