MANNERS? Yeah right ... what would you know about manners 912? A simple search of your posts show you're nothing but a BULLY TROLL who has NEVER contributed any real advice or positive feeedback to the dialogue on this site. Ever! So pardon me for not looking up a story on the Savannah Morning News web site from just 2 days ago for you.

Son, I understand that you think you have a rather large set by acting this way on the internet, but you're sadly mistaken.

I don't quite know who you think you are, but I have a feeling that most likely, you're some young snot nosed 20 something kid who thinks he knows everything there is to know about everything. I asked for a link, because it's usual & customary to link to a story when you mention it. That was all. You decided to take this down a decidedly negative path with your response.

I'm glad you got your rocks off by critiquing my previous posts. I speak my mind on subjects that I know some things about. In my professional life, I get paid rather handsomely to do just that. As for you, I suggest you cool your jets, learn some manners, and realize that your 20-something mouth may get you into certain trouble, especially if you live here in Savannah. Are we clear? Let's hope so.

My pleasure Ellie. I have snoozeboy sitting in my ignore box, so it's all good. And thanks for understanding what I was driving at in the first place!

Wow, where did THAT come from? It was a little much. All the guy did was ask for a link. Sheesh.

Both of you need to grow up and behave like gentlemen (or civilized adults). Yes, I read what happened but it doesn't justify ugliness. I also get tired of feeling like I have to do very basic searches for people who are too lazy to get the info for themselves and may have set a bad example, so I'll take the blame in part.

This link was not simple to find on google. I had to go to the SMN's webpage and suffer through its advertising permutations while I waited for the article to appear.

Every now and then we all need to take a deep breath and cut the other person a little slack. It's good for your health.

Be sweet, now.

Here is a nugget to think about...

When I first came to Savannah 20 years ago they were talking about recycling in the city, then 10 years ago it was finish the extension to the Truman parkway. So if history is a guide...yeah you may have high rises on the hutch. in about 20 years.

In a dream I had about a year ago... I was in downtown and it must have been the future or an alternative deminsion, but the city around me seemed the same, just a little older. I looked to the southside and there was a skyline of newly developed highrises. Although in the dream, I definatly believed I was looking to the south, I was probally wrong since the southside is more marshy than downtown and thus and support less construction. This skyline was either to the west or the north. Who knows, maybee it was the future Hutchinson Island....that would be hip.

Like Newsboy said in an earlier dated post, the initial idea was to have high-rises next to the river and behind that, mid to low density development. If (and hopefully it will) this eventually comes to be, it more than likely will be decades considering how slowly this city operates.

The Southside idea of high-rises (or at least mid-rises) I could definitely see happening since that is usually how stages of development occur over years to some degree. There are already a few mid-rise hotels in midtown on Abercorn. It also depends on zoning ordinances... and a bit less conservatism. All done the right way, of course.
