Hello all,

My wife and I are moving to Statesboro this coming summer and I am interested in finding a pipes and drums band within reasonable driving distance. Do any of you know whether there are any active Pipes and Drums bands nearby?

Cheers

I suggest you get hold of the folks in charge of the St. Patricks Day parade. I bet they can steer you to one.

The only time bagpipes & drums are in Savannah en masse is St. Patrick's Day. Aside from an odd event or two, they're not here.

There are always several pipe and drum corps in the St. Patrick's Day Parade -- usually from out of town, and always an entry or two from Ireland, Boston, NYC, etc. But I'm certain there MUST be at least one or two local groups. Agree with the other suggestion: Contact the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee. Or better yet, if you can attend this year's event, look for some participants and ask. Can't miss 'em in their kilts (and little else) drunk on green beer after the parade!

Default Savannah Pipe Band

Hello,

My name is Craig and I play for the Savannah Pipe Band. We have been here in Savannah since 2007 and play not only in parades but also in competitions around the Southeast. We are always looking for more band members, including pipes, snare drum, tenor and bass.

The band website is Savannah Pipes and Drum Corps - Home. We practice right here in Savannah Georgia. We have members who travel as far as Beaufort, SC to play in the band. Look forward to seeing you at practice. Please give our Pipe Major or Drum Major a call/email if you have any questions.
