I would like to relocate from Jax Bch, FL to Wilmington Island, GA. I had considered Hilton Head/Bluffton area, but I need to work part-time, and feel work prospects might be a little better near and around Savannah. The YMCA is also a big + for exercise and meeting people. I also enjoy the history and culture of Savannah.

I looked at Oaks at Wilmington Island, and they sounded great, until I read some of the negative feedback. I don't know whether to always believe the comments posted. Can anyone offer feedback on The Oaks or suggest another apartment community. Thanks!

Default wilmington island

I live on Wilmington Island at Buccaneer Trace apartments. They are fantastic. Quiet, secluded reasonably priced for Savannah Apartments. I've been here almost 7 months and love it. I work on the other side of Savannah and the 'commute" is nothing. Savannah has so many things to offer, I wish I had more time to "play". I've relocated several times and have learned, if you take advantage of the things your city offers, you'll never be happier.
Keep your mind open, and live.....

I also recommend Buccaneer Trace. They are slightly older but you get a lot more for your money and the staff is fantastic. They are super friendly.

We are renting a condo through a property management company at the Merritt at Whitemarsh Island. Thankfully we don't have the long commute to Wilmington Island - the commute closely resembles NASCAR. We also love the Merritt because it's gated and very well maintained by the HOA. There's a pool, work out facility, car wash station (with a free vacuum) as well as dog walks (with poopie bags/trash cans provided). Also trash/recycling and water are already included in our rent. There are a lot of nice places in that area so be sure to check them out! Good luck
