What's the story behind these lakes or large ponds? Does anyone around here fish these? They are really nice looking bodies of water. I assume they are on private property.

I can't say what all of them are, but a large number of them are borrow pits. The owners sold the dirt/sand for the construction of the Interstate, etc. I am fairly sure that most of them have been stocked with fish for the fishing pleasure of the owners.

Oh speaking of fishing, what are some good places out here? Been to the ones on Hunter, and the one on off mohawk rd, any better ones.

I've caught hundreds and hundreds of panfish over at Lake Mayer. They usually start spawning in May/June, sometimes late April if you're lucky.

There are bass too, but I'm never there early or late enough in the evening to catch them. There are also catfish... Seen a few biggun's caught there.
