I was hoping some locals could give me recommendations of good wedding package companies. We would prefer a full service (set up, take down, catering, photography & music) all rolled into one, but seperate suggestions are much appreciated as well.

Also, our date in mind is Aug 20, 2011....any special events that might interfer with our date that you can think of?

Special events? Yeah, Rain or HEAT.

Make sure that you have some sort of secondary spot picked. A beachside wedding sounds great, and it can be wonderful, but if it rains, or your guest are soaked in sweat, it can be the pits!

Another thing to think about: Tybee is a public beach. High tide is one thing, low tide would allow scads of people to wander by during your ceremony. Not all of them may be polite.

The Ocean Plaza is on the beach, has wedding packages, and provides alternatives for inclement weather.

I'd ask about the jellyfish. They are bad in August. You don't want your guests to be tripping over jellyfish that have washed up on the beach. There were a record number of stings last year: Tybee sets a jellyfish sting record | savannahnow.com I've seen the beach covered with them at times. I'd just ask to be sure about the time or ask if they have someone to clean up the area where you will be married. Some areas have a lot of cigarette butts that would need to be picked up, too.
