We wont be able to look for a house before we move. DH has to start his job as soon as we arrive. All our things will be in storage while we are house hunting so it needs to be lightly furnished.

Anyone have any recommendations on where to stay? Preferably something that wont cost us more than 1k a month.

I had a situation where my house wasn't completed on time and had a month where I would have been without a house, I ended up house sitting for someone for a month. I know the landings has monthly rentals but most of these run 2k a month. Also there are some apartments out in Pooler but these are going to run around 1500 a month and don't accept pets. They are corporate rentals. The plus is it's basically a long term hotel with furniture, pots and pans, beds, lines, etc. all provided. There is a hotel on Montgomery that has a weekly rate I think of around 250, so this may be what you want.

At a 1k a month you are going to be hard pressed to find anything except a few weekly hotels.

If you're talking about Savannah Suites, don't do it. It's not worth the money, the characters around the place are scary and the place is infested with scabies and bed bugs.
