Parkside is sort of a vaguely defined area. There may be a coffee shop near where you will be. I just couldn't say. It's mostly a residential area with little commercial activity

Don't think there will be any coffee shops in that area. There is a Krystal Hamburger place just south of Victory Drive (Daffin Park) with fairly decent coffee.

People do bike to Tybee. Steep bridges and lots and lots of traffic and stupid speeding drivers. No bike lanes, so you are taking a big chance. It would be about 25 miles from that area. In the summer, it's very hot and humid going over the marsh areas. Plan on stopping on Wilmington Island for a rest. I think there are bike paths on certain areas on Wilmington.

There is a new IHOP not too far from this area, on Victory Drive.

There has been some discussion about bike lanes on Washington Ave, going from Waters and ending to the west. Abercorn? or Bull? Those would be your best bet, I think....but I am no rider!!!

Don't try to go to downtown on Waters. It goes through some iffy areas.

There's a Starbucks at the corner of Victory and Skidaway. It's a little far to walk and a little too much traffic to ride your bike, unless you're crazy brave.

To ride your bike downtown, take any of the numbered streets south of Victory west until you reach Habersham. Go north on Habersham, cross Victory, ride a block or so north on Habersham then make your way one block west to Lincoln St. where the bike lane resumes.

And yes there are plenty of friendly people living in Parkside. It's a real neighborhood and probably one of the best in Savannah.
