Hey...I saw the magazine, Connect Savannah, did an issue called: Best of Savannah. In this issue online voters voted on everything from best Thai restaurant, best new bar, to best neighborhood. But some of the results seemed skewed. Like Starbucks won, best coffee shop.
So all yall Savannahians, here is a thread to just post if you find something great, even if its something small, or silly like, for example: The Best Intersection is Skidaway and LaRoach, next to Savannah State.
Best Restaurants, Bars, Underrated Neighborhoods, Best Roads or Routes, Best Shops...and anything else yous can think of. Thanks.
....and lets try to stick to locally owned places, please, the big chains already have enough ad space

There is this great Vietnamese restaurant in midtown @ Waters and Derenne. There pho is not as good as Taca sushi's downtown. But everything else is grade A in a southern boy's opinion.

The best 24-hour diner, perhaps the only, is the Pancake Palace, recently renamed "the Dinner on Abercorn." It is located on the southside, before ya get to the mall. Its great for the end of a drinking night, after the bars are closed (at 3). That's when it taste the best, but I remember going in there on Sunday mornings with my parents as a child and it was still the best. Great coffee, eggs, pies, and, of course, Pancakes. They also serve quail.

Driving to the beach and getting boiled peanuts on Wilmington Island, on the way....then making a little trip up the Tybee Tyme, which is like Wet Willies-style drinks. Also on the other side of the Island (North and West), go to Huc-a-Poo's, they have amazing pizza and are dog-friendly, and usually have live music, which is fun.

On the way to Tybee on the left side where the motor scooter rental place and a bunch of little shops are (look for a sign that says Latitude 32). Drive in there and there's a little bar called Huck a Poos. They have $2 beer, $5 nachos and good pizza. Inside the bar it's dark and dingy and probably hasn't been changed (or dusted) since the 60's. It's very popular with the locals. There's an outside deck, but we like the dingy inside bar.

I love this restaurant that was mentioned. I've eaten there atleast 10 times in the last 2 months since I discovered them. Fantastic food. Its called Saigon Bistro. Shrimp spring rolls with the peanut sauce, Vietnamese crepe and the Vietnamese sub are all fantastic

Tangerines I've eaten at quite a few times too, Its usually good. More than anything I like the environment in Tangerines. Its very relaxing.

Today I had sushi zen and I eat there about once a week for the last 6 months. I have always had a good experience there.

King and I is also good. I've eaten it way less than the others for some reason though.

Vic's on the River is pretty good too!

^^^ The same people who own King and I and Tangerine also run ELE on Wilmington Island, which may very well be the BEST restaurant in all of Savannah (sorry Elizabeth and Old Pink House!).

I just went there and the food was great. They also have a 10% discount for seniors, and military.
