Hey guys, the son of a friend was arrested in Hinesville while driving through for suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription meds. Any recommendations on defense attorneys in that area? Thanks for any leads!

Big question,

Did he do their Physical Agility Test? Also how is his drug test going to come out?

If he did the PAT test and failed, and his drug test comes back as positive, their isn't much good an attorney can do.

If he didn't do the PAT test, then get an attorney. Biggest mistake people make is in taking the monkey test.

As I understand it, he did not... his blood was drawn and it will likely come back as positive for those prescription meds that he was legitimately taking. The circumstances sounded odd... including a search of his vehicle with no apparent probable cause. Thanks for any leads.

I would contact the local bar association and get a list of names. They will provide leads on who are competent DUI attorneys. One of the biggest things will be picking an attorney who is known to the local prosecuters and isn't an unknown for them. As this will give the prosecuters an idea of the resources on the defendants side. The cost is usually $2500 upfront with another $2500 to $7500 to go to trial. Usually in a case which isn't clear cut like this when they realize you will go to the mats and bury them with paperwork, most of the time a deal can be worked out on lesser charges, which is why it's important to have somebody they know and have dealt with before. Most of the time the defense is we will make it not worth your time to go after us.
