Depends on what you find "exciting". Exploding meth labs make it "never a dull moment" in Guyton!

They are both semi-rural, but nice little towns not far from the bright lights, big city. If I were you I would decide by the schools.

Guyton = Effingham Middle / High
Rincon = South Effingham Middle / High

I don't think there's much difference between the schools (both good) but Rincon is a LOT closer to Savannah and Pooler proper, where the nearest movie theaters, bowling alleys, etc are. Rincon is also where all the retail / restaurants are in Effingham County.

Guyton is a neat little historic town but it is WAY out there ...

Yeah, I think Rincon is also larger. What people refer to as "south Guyton" is really a few scattered subdivisions along old GA 17 and is closer to Bloomingdale than to Guyton. Not much to do there.

Thanks everyone, I think me and the family will end up staying in Pooler we stayed in the Hampton Inn in that area in the past and at that time the area seemed pretty nice.

Lots going on in the Pooler area and the schools are good. The only reason I would send anybody out to Effingham is if they were really looking for a rural / semi-suburban lifestyle with lots of wide open space.

Now we got Mobile meth labs. Effingham Sheriff Deputy caught one today in North Effingham on the Kildare Oliver Road drifted into Effingham county from Bulloch county.

Also, is the "other side" of Pooler a ok place to live? (Meaning the side opposite of Godley Station)
