Great plan!

I couldn't help but shake my head at some of the idiotic comments posted below the article, however.
Quite a few complaints about it being a toll and calls to have it paid for by none other than the gas tax of all things. Really people? That tax can't even keep up with current projects and increasing it won't do much good either. It has to be paid for in some way & it seems to me that ANY plan that involves money is being frowned upon. NOTHING IS FREE PEOPLE!
Someone else actually mentioned cars will have to be rerouted. Seriously?! Did that person even read the article?!? Most if not all of it will be on existing right of way.
..and just because Truman took so long to be completed doesn't mean every project after it will either.

Okay. Rant complete.
There was one comment out of all the ignorance that made complete sense....the idea about room for future light rail. Now THAT is a good idea!

All that said, this project is in its infancy and may or may not even be done (due to some obvious ignorance), but hopefully progressive-mindedness will come out ahead throughout all of this.

This is not a bad idea. Using an existing route with an elevated freeway separates local and through traffic, handles growth, and makes the road safer.

Toll road is fine, bring some Texas guys in to get the project off the ground and get it done. Texas builds toll roads all the time and they would get this done within a year if we let them do it...

Proof defeating T-SPOST will not impact road construction projects.

Something must be done! This seems to be the most logical. It certainly won't suit everyone, but we can't turn the clock back fifty years so that Savannah will still be a wooded area with just a few thousand people with cars.

If it looks like the drawings, this will be really cool! Could they do the same for Derenne? I am all for toll roads if it gets these things built faster and fixes the traffic problems.

Not sure about tolls though. Savannah has been against them, historically.
