Vineyard Vines is on Ben Carter's list of proposed retailers for downtown.

Brooks Brothers is on the list for Outlet Mall of Georgia in Pooler.

I was recently at Vineyard Vines at Lenox Square in Atlanta, and they flat out said "no" when I asked them if Savannah was on their radar. But, then again, I asked a sales associate.

J. Parker Ltd. and John B. Rourke sell menswear, both formal and casual. They sell Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, Southern Proper, Coastal Cotton, and similar brands.
Yeah that sales associate most likely didn't know.

Thanks for the info on those shops. I do like to support men's shops, but like to stroll through the bigger stores too.

It is a nice addition, if you're sporty or have kids who are, but I can think of no reason to go there, personally. Now, get me a Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, or Crate and Barrel, and I'll get excited.

I would also get excited if I were your hubby paying the Amex charge. LOL

Agreed. Dicks is a nice sporting good store, but that's all it is -- a big box sporting good store. It's not like Bass Pro, Cabelas or Gander Mountain.

As for those other stores you mentioned, it would be great to have at least one of them in the market, especially downtown. I suspect we will see at least one of them at them at the Pooler outlet mall.

I went to the one in Athens recently just to see what we were getting. There's a lot of neon spandex.

Otherwise the store is divided into sections for specific sports. It's okay, I guess.

Well I'm a tennis player/instructor... and a gym rat.

Considering there really isn't any place in Savannah that sells decent stuff like workout clothes and tennis shoes, I'll be happy.

Unfortunately whenever I've gone to Russell's or Thompson's, I've had less than par customer service and experiences. So I'll be glad that there is bigger competition in Savannah to push those guys to not treat their customers like crap like when I've gone in there.

I could see how you'd benefit. They seem to have a wide selection and, in my case, excellent customer service. Hopefully the same will be true in our new store.
