New hotel planned for MLK | savannahnow.com
Just what DT Savannah needs another hotel.....Seriously the city should put a moratanium on new hotels downtown. There needs to be more mixed use developments with residential downtown.

How you going to get residential on MLK? Kinda like the story of the two lovers sitting in a car on lover's lane. He says "Let's get married". She says "Who would have us?".

Two reasons why this is a good idea for the city:
1) Investment money pushing the front toward making MLK a place to be and live.
2) We are a tourist city. Get get mega income from this type of investment. "That's a good thing."

I completely agree! All the hotels are making the imbalance that much worse. When I say imbalance, I'm referring to the number of new hotel construction versus residential construction. How many is too many?

Downtown population isn't large enough for what it's got. Most businesses rely solely on tourists. That's a recipe for disaster IMO.

Also, the Historic District does NOT need any more parking LOTS. Build UP. Even if Patel says he's going to put a second hotel there eventually, if he builds something else, make it mixed use!
