Hello i just wanted to make a thread about one of my favorite cites in my top 5 list. I love the people , food, culture, the trees (boy do i love the trees) i love the hot humid muggy air! I think the riverfront and riverwalk is awesome, i stayed at the Hyatt once before on the other side of the river, I loved it!! I love the haunted house tours!
A few things i didnt like as much were;
1.) The road network infrastructure!! Abercom St. is a mess (congested) for a city of its size! I think they should plan a expressway. (although that would cause alot of the homes in its path to be torn down, which would include historical landmarks etc, not to mention would be a eyesore so i can understand that.

2.) The black people native to SV( btw im am black and spanish ) I realised that alot of the people of my color saw in this city seem to be of low income, and less educated from the conversations Ive had with people here! Why is it like this here? Is it because they are opressed or is it just the gangster mentality and self entitlement syndrome that they have here! I saw more gold teeth and dreads here than what I saw in Miami!! I have dreads to but they are very neat and keep them medium length and pulled back.

3.) Housing is expensive here? Is it becuase of the lack of dry land in the city or is it because of army base, Fort Stewart being so close and military employess taking all of the vacancies?

Nice to read your thread there. Very well spoken my friend. What are your top five cities and or States? As you can assume by my name that I hate hot and Muggy. I am in Florida and hate it. My tops are Reno(moderate-but some snow-minimal cold-heat of which I prefer)Love Mountains by the way. Rapid City,Sioux Falls SD-I know Cold-Cold-Snow and Sioux is flatish. Boise Idaho-Moderate has extremes though in the Cold/Hot and some snow,areas which do appeal-and Mountains. Spokane, Washington not so cold and hot either(Has snow)-Mountains. Love Montana also for all the above reasons but little on the cool side, but great to drive through. All have trees. I used to love Oregon and Washington's West side but due to the moderate weather that it has, masses of Vagrants like vegas too and the those areas have alot of unkempt white trash areas,so sad and depressing. If you prefer to direct message our replies I am all for that, Peace.Jim

The military has a basic allowance for quarters which pays out a fixed amount based on local. With 8k soldiers and airman at Hunter Army Airfield and Stewart nearby it does a lot to set the market rate.
