Any suggestions for finding good prices on live blue claw? Most seafood markets are charging $30 per dozen for large.

Thanks

I heard "Nancy's". That's all I know. Sorry. Not even sure where it is but I think they have two locations.

I didn't even know that you could buy them live. Just about anyone around here that wants their own, will crab off a dock or even the beach.

The old family legend says that they spoil very quickly after dying, so the chances of getting a good, safe one from a market was taking a chance. Don't know if that's true or not, but we never cooked any that weren't alive and fighting when they went into the boiling water. So be careful!!! That old tale might be true.

I remember seeing a sign for them last week at a place on East Duffy about a 1/2 block off of MLK

Close... That would be West Henry, two blocks off MLK. Actually, there's David Cha (owned by the Chus) on Montgomery one block off MLK, and the blue place (can't remember the name) on the corner of Jefferson. But, you may check with Seafoodlicious (on Skidaway across from the SSU campus) or Bobo's on Montgomery close to Victory Dr.

I imagine Miss Nancys on W. Bay St. Near Lathrop is the one Caddy mentioned. I can't remember where her other location is.

My first thought was Teeples in Thunderbolt who probably will cook them for you. Maybe that's not much fun, though.

Honestly, I sometimes put out a trap, see how many I caught, and then dump them out. My husband isn't too excited about picking crab and it's not much fun doing it by myself.

I haven't been out that way in awhile. I was hesitant to suggest it. Oh well. Thanks for the update.

There is a place on Highway 80 near Heidt Ave in Garden City that advertises cooked live crab. I don't recall the name and have never been in the place.

My uncle told me about that place. It's just beyond the viaduct near the end of Chatham pkwy?
