I guess the thinking was: "Why build a regular inexpensive road when a bridge can do the job for 20 times the price?" Pure fantasy.

EXACTLY. One of the reasons I think this whole thing is more fantasy than reality.

Almost goes to show you how smart our leaders are with this stuff...

IF this project ever really gets off the ground, I would be shocked if it were take a shape bearing any resemblance to the architectural renderings paraded before the economic development folks. They are up HUGE today - back to .12/share.

I'm starting to think the guy behind Medient Studios is the same guy behind the multiple failed attempts to build a water park out at Gateway. Weren't they both Patels or something? LOL

ANYWAY ... I was up visiting family in Fayette County last week and drove by the Pinewood Studios site to check out construction progress. OMG! That thing is just massive, and it's only the first phase of what will eventually be the second largest film and TV studio in the nation (after Universal in LA I think). But the Pinewood Atlanta project is being funded by Cathy family money -- as in Chick-fil-A -- and isn't an issue.
