The vibe is the same as it was then as far as the southern-ness is concerned. You'll just find a lot more people. Tourists, residents, students. Quite a bit more vibrant.

BTW, I'm sure you know this, but Ohioans are mid-westerners.

I know quite a few people in Savannah from Ohio.

They are also quite prevalent on Hilton Head. The joke is that HHI is an Ohio suburb.

I've always thought there were a lot of Ohioans in NC. We're all right apparently.

Interesting how that goes, once you move.
Every Saturday of my youth, there was a Red Sox game wafting through the open windows, and also the smell of baked beans.

The Native Americans in that area taught it to the Pilgrims, apparently, and it stuck:

Oh, I thought the name stuck because a few Yankee fans thought the BRS fans were full of excess hot air eating beans. That's interesting!

Everyone's mother had their recipe, and they were made from scratch. We had hotdogs and beans every Saturday, and then you had the leftover baked beans with bacon and eggs on Sunday. It is a great combination, so I'm not sure why beans for breakfast is only regional.
