Not sure what leaving an entire national market has to do with US market site selection. Target is weird about site selection - it took forever for Savannah to get one, but then poor cities like Albany and Valdosta have them. Target closed and opened roughly the same number of stores last year. Duluth, Ga lost one of their seven area locations, but that is not a sign of the Target business model failing... more of a sign they are making better real estate decisions.

Which is a shame. Our overcrowded super Wal-Mart needs some competition. Quite a few of our shoppers come from Screven, Jenkins, and Candler Counties. Our market goes beyond Bulloch's 70,000 residents.

Target is opening some US stores this year so its not impossible.
