Savannahs violent crime rate is 3 time as bad as Charleston ... and twice the rate in North Charleston... .. cant imagine looking for personal safety by moving to savannah....Beaufort/ Bluffton does make some sense tho .... housing is less expensive than Charleston .. and the communities are very livable...

I go to CofC and a guy in my entrepreneur class told the speaker he was torn between CofC and SCAD, but chose CofC because "Savannahs crime and property is ridiculous, and theyre going downhill fast."

I havent heard much about Savannah crime, but I have heard a couple people talk about Savannah being in "trouble." On the plus side my classmate really wants to visit and the other wants to come for St Pattys.

But unbiasly, I have to say Charleston area is better bet. Charleston is more than the peninsula. The whole metro is growing blazing fast, but the outer suburbs of Summerville and Goose Creek and between is growing the fastest. Theyre also pretty safe, well educated, and cheap enough to live, and still be close to downtown. Charlestons crime rate overall is dropping, especially violent crime. I'd imagine Svannah would be cheaper, but Charleston is safer and covers a wider area which allows for a more diverse range of home prices than most think.

Yeah knowing my aunt though, she wants to live in a borderline country/suburban area. Charleston is still too expensive for her in that respect, but Pooler is looking good too.

How's Brunswick compare? We might consider Jacksonville too.

You get a raise of $3,000 for every $100,000 of income when you move to Florida from Georgia.
