Many of you may know; their is a $5 hotel fee starting july 1st! How do you think this will affect tourism?

No not at all, My taxes, resort fees, and city and county fees for hotels when I go to Atlanta are over 15% of the bill. Plus $20 to self park or $24 for valet.

Zero. Nada. Non-event. Not important. Not worth bandwidth. No I did not know that nor does any tourist wanting to come to Savannah care.
Now, a $5.00 hotel fee in Statesboro....hmmmm, not sure I would pay it. Let me give that one some deep thought.
