Bluemercury is a division of Macy's.

That would explain the location on Ben Carter's downtown map that has simply been labeled "Macy's" all this time.

Picture this..

Broughton street closes to vehicle traffic and becomes a walking street. You can still go N-S on all the downtown streets which intersect Broughton.

All the restaurants and bars now have outside patio seating and fountains are in the middle where cars once drove by.

Yea or Nay?

Not like there is a ton of parking to begin with.

The city really needs several more garages.

Yes yes yes!! Outdoor dining is the best!

What's the deal with the whole parking thing. There's always parking. You may have to walk or look for it a bit. But..been to a big city? If everyone wants growth get used to it since you'll see less and less open spots. And Ellis garage is gigantic, it should have plenty (? I don't go there much but does it really fill up Mon-Fri?). As to pay for parking why not let locals park free at least for the time being. A compromise. Tourists have no choice but to suck it up. We should be thinking about ways to get people into the city without cars anyway. Park and ride and the CAT Bus system. It's pathetic how the bus is "bad" down here and has some kind of weird stigma. You want to live in a city, transit is a city thing. Or perhaps at least make Broughton one-way, which would increase parking a lot by making diagonal spaces.
