AMAZING UPDATE TOO UNBELIEVABLE TO EVEN SEEM TRUE: This evening around 7 pm, while walking down Jefferson Street and talking on the phone to my mother, I spotted my car parked in the gravel lot behind McDonald's on Broughton. The police called the lot owner, who said it had been there about a week. This is about 6 blocks from OPH where I reported it stolen. There does not appear to be anything missing or any damage, but per insurance regs it must be towed in for a full inspection before I can claim recovery. I have no problem with that!

In the words of the responding officer: "This never happens!"

More details to come as they develop.

Thief must have had a Big Mac Attack and then passed out inside after eating and forgot how they got there when they came to.

Really glad you got your car back and I hope it is in good shape.

Yes on Friday. It smells kinda funky but other than that seems no worse for the ordeal. Cops speculate that some kids prolly stole it to go joy riding and then either got spooked and abandoned it or realized it wasn't worth anything and changed their minds. Who wants to risk going to jail over a Kia Rio?

The smell is probably bum funk. You more than likely had a homeless guy sleeping in your car for a few nights. From past experience it only takes a month to come out.

LOL I'm genuinely sorry for your ordeal and the bum funk, but I can just imagine you doing a triple take on your car in the mcdonald's parking lot. I'd get your insurance to cover a professional interior cleaning lol
