It's worse than ghastly. A true discredit to the character of our city. Shame on everyone involved, but especially the Metropolitan Planning Commission and City Council for taking the easy money and looking the other way. I mean, they have to be looking the OTHER way, right?

I was in Savannah today and I must say I was impressed with the amount of construction I saw going. Unfortunately, due to the weather I was only able to take a few photos.

Thanks. Those are great. I’m especially glad to see something happening on Hutchinson Island.

Thanks for posting! I’ve been keeping track myself, and it’s crazy how much has been going on and will only continue and probably increase despite the recession. Hyundai coming to Bryan county will keep Savannah and surrounding areas booming. I’m actually wondering where all these people will come from to work in these new employment centers.

I've probably asked this before but...
Was there a mid-high rise hotel included in the Convention Center Plan?

Ah, understood
I hope Omni or some other hotel group is willing to fill that void.

It looks like they will build a 400 room hotel, but not in time for the convention center expansion opening.

Developer Brookfield Properties (owner of the Westin) agreed to build the new hotel in June 2022 but is still negotiating a land lease. Once the land lease is finalized, Brookfield should begin construction on the hotel "within a year."
