As many have already heard and know the Entrance has already been installed to the 'Blue Mile' a couple of weeks ago and the progress just keep on coming! This past City Council Meeting the council approved a grant request for an unverified amount of $ and offering a match of up to a little over a half $million(Available or Already spent) to be spent on South Main Street and Also Separate the Redesign of the Fair Rd Entrance. And that's on top of the potential $3Million we could get in April if we win the 'America's Best Communities' Contest. Also approved at the meeting was negotiations for leasing of land for a Dog Park outside of the Blue Mile. So many exciting things going on here! So who's ready for a Total Redeveloped/Redesigned Downtown Statesboro?

That's OK. One day, if you keep up the good work on marketing Statesboro, it will have a board of its own. They'll probably make you the moderator. You deserve it.

Georgia Southern is officially launching a study for two proposed sites for a new Georgia Southern Basketball Arena! One proposed location is right across from the 'Blue Mile'(where the Georgia Southern Football Practice Field was previously located) and the other proposed location is on the other side of the Bypass from Paulson Stadium. Georgia Southern is partnering with City Agencies to scout locations. Also the Arena would be used for community events. All of This Is According to the Statesboro Herald.
