I hope after seeing articles like this, that our politicians take climate change seriously.

From 1970 to 2017, the number of summer days each year when the average daily temperature in Savannah exceeded normal has been increasing, an analysis by the nonprofit Climate Central shows.

Meteorologists consider the three warmest months — June, July and August — as summer. That means Savannah is only three weeks into the 2018 summer, which has already proven fierce.

Won't happen soon. Politicians refuse to buy it because it contradicts basic American beliefs in unfettered capitalism and development. It will always be an issue in this country, especially in the South and West, until the ravages are more serious. Extreme temps and single events like Hurricane Katrina and downtown Houston floods aren't convincing them.

Who is Climate Central? Let's see who on their staff!

Oh Look! There's Heidi Cullen, formerly of the Weather Channel, who stated that broadcast meteorologists should be stripped of their AMS certification if they disagree on global change/climate warming. She's a loose cannon in the scientific community of the highest order and any organization affiliated with her cannot be taken seriously.

843 that is interesting. But on point, are you trying to say climate change is.. not happening? Sea levels are not rising?

Regardless of what that person said, whether in jest or serious,... the facts are the facts. Ones opinion on the messenger means nothing.

She certainly has the Trump supporters' attention, that's for sure.

So, let’s all get in a dither about it. That will help.

Point taken. Maybe we should all be investing in house boat companies.

Even if you don't believe in global warming, tell me how coal fired power plants are good for our health?

Coal is dirty but cheap energy, and poorer states like Georgia and Wyoming have the huge coal-fired power plants. The largest in the country is west of Milledgeville, near my favorite little roadie restaurant (Whistle Stop Café in Juliette -- thanks for the tip, News). You can see its dramatic smoking chimneys from the road. The plant employs lots of workers. It will be closed eventually, according to articles I've read, but that won't be soon. That fact that most of Georgia's legislators don't believe in climate change doesn't help the schedule.
