Sorry to bump this.

But I was in a peculiar situation today. Seeing as how I don't go downtown as much as I used to, I was downtown around 5pm and didn't wanna pay for parking.

I got a gym membership at Fitness on Broughton but since they close at 10pm most of the week, that means I'd still have to pay for parking somewhere downtown to be within walking distance. It would only be free after 8pm and that is just an inconvenience having to pay extra for parking on top of the gym membership if I'm going 5-6 days a week.

So I tried the Fare Free shuttles today and was pretty happy with it. I ended up parking at Forysth Park, and took the shuttle all the way to Broughton and walked to the gym. Found out they run every 15 minutes. Spent about 2 hours in the gym, went back to the shuttle spot on Drayton and Broughton, and took a 10 minute ride circling back to Forysth.

The shuttles had the air conditioning on full blast. And there were tons of tourists using it. I may have been one of the only locals using it.

I believe there was another thread a few months ago that discussed Forysth potentially having metered parking. Hope it gets delayed as I enjoyed using the shuttle today and plan on using it as much as I can.

I believe everything from Oglethorpe up to the River is $2 an hour.

The zone in the other direction is $1 an hour. Considering I go to the gym on Broughton 5-6 days a week for 2-3 hours a day... just makes more sense for me to park at Forsyth and ride the shuttle down there.

Makes it easier with the CAT app to see where the shuttles are too.
