I hope the improvements pay off...

When it comes to the on-going noise issues with train horns blaring at each of the two-dozen crossings through the city, that’s going to be a more long-term fix, which is applying for what’s called a Quiet Zone designation.

“...which would allow train operators to not have to blow their horns through the 24 crossings which exist through Savannah’s mid-town," explained Shearouse, Jr.

Before the City can apply for that designation, crossings need safety improvements, which according to Shearouse, Jr. could be things like adding signal lights and crossing arms.

I would prefer they smooth out the pavement around the railroad.

It's a nightmare coming from East President over those tracks at anything over 20mph. The rumbling is worst in the city over any tracks.

I had routes that got stuck in one area with kids on it for over an hour 1 day in Garden City. If there had been a medical emergency on that bus, no one would have been able to help. It’s downright dangerous. It happens way too often and I feel for those in that area who get cut off from getting out of their homes when the train decides to park. It’s going to take a death and a BIG lawsuit to change it.

I do always wonder going on Truman why after building an entire highway many miles, they stopped right at the train track and didn't build the offramp over it.

The far left EB lane is REALLY bad. I always use the right lane (not the Truman access lane). Not so bad.

When going WB, I usually stay on the right then cut towards a 45 angle to the right line that goes to the development that isn't finished yet.

Sorry I got this completely backward. The far RIGHT HAND LANE is really REALLY bad. The left lane (next to the Truman turn lane) is not at all. Try it. You’ll see.

Of course it really has to do with what kind of vehicle you’re driving. But I have found the left lane to be much less rickety at 25 or 30 miles an hour.
