The Metropolitan Planning Commission released the alternatives being studied for the interchange. Personally I prefer the DDI.

The partial cloverleaf makes more sense for moving trucks seamlessly on and off the interstate ... which is the main reason for building this thing.

I drove Bloomingdale Road from I-16 over to US 80 a couple of weeks ago and was very surprised at how far along the new extension is coming.

Any will work, but I agree the partial cloverleaf would move trucks better. I am concerned that they aren't planning this until 2050. The bridge is in horrible shape already.

I think Design Year 2050 indicates it’s supposed to handle traffic through that year...I drove by yesterday and I am sure they’re building the new off ramp coming from the east on I-16. Something new is coming when the JD reaches I-16.

Correct. When roads and bridges are studied, they project traffic 20-30 years out to ensure can handle capacity for the lifetime of the structure or until the next widening/resurfacing.

The DDI at US21/I-95 in Port Wentworth has significantly improved traffic flow. What's not to like about that?
