QT had a pre-application meeting this week with Hardeeville and made their expansion plans known at the meeting. Essentially, they’re building strategic travel centers throughout the region. They’ll be outposts of the Atlanta and Carolina divisions.

Any new details on this? Looks like the Macon location was pushed up to a early 2021 opening rather than summer 2020.

They applied for a wetland mitigation permit in May 2019. This process can take up to a year if there isn't public opposition.

They’re serious about it too as they’ve already announced/started construction on 5 in the Midlands of SC (Columbia).

I know you all must be excited.

Funny you put Columbia in parenthesis for midlands (which is an easy one to get) yet I have no idea what soda city is.

Columbia is legally shortened to Cola on mail (meaning you could write my address as Cola, SC instead of Columbia) and Cola is Soda. Soda City.

https://sodacitysc.com/ This is what made the term popular

And a helpful article.

Hope this helped. But back to QT, I love their food. For a convenience store it’s surprisingly good.

QuikTrip is planning a location in Pooler at U.S. 80 and Dean Forest Rd. The DRI (Development of Regional Impact) application was submitted Monday to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.

Ohhhh lord. Thank the gods. I'd support local (Parkers and Enmarket) more, but their stores are so monolithic and boring. Enmark's hot food is pretty mediocre at best. Parker's has decent food, but I can't get over how pretentious their stores are.

QuikTrip by far has better selections than either of those stores, and better made-to-order food.

Of all the locations they could choose from, they start there?!? So random. I would’ve at least put it at 16 and Dean Forest.

Probably because 80 goes all the way down to Augusta Rd./Bourne/Ports.

There's way too much competition already at the front of Dean Forest and 16, and that's Parker's biggest location which has a yuge truck stop behind it, and there's also already a Pilot Truck Stop there too. Now if they opened it on the otherside of the exit right before the old Food Lion that would do well there.

But I can see the logic to putting it on 80 and DF.
