Hello All,

I was in Savannah for work last week and got a speeding ticket for going 75 in a 55 on Truman Parkway. It was my mistake, not paying attention. I thought it was a 65mph road, so i thought I was only going over 10 which I am not usually pulled over for.

However someone told me about some type of "Super Speeder" law that exists. I tried reading up on it online but I am still confused by what that includes. Does my circumstance fall under that amount?

I thought it was weird my citation amount is not listed on the ticket and it doesn't seem to be in the system yet when I have tried to check it online. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I believe super speeder is anything 15 over. If it's within the city limits like on Truman, unless I can clearly see no cops around (I usually know where they like to camp out) I am only going 8-9 over at most unless flow of traffic is moving faster.

I thought Super Speeder only applies to interstates and state highways. Truman is a LOCAL highway. But I may be wrong.

Yeah that confuses me as well. It was a state trooper who pulled me over though. I think its a highway but its maintained by the city instead of the state? Very confusing.

Truman needs to be posted at 65.. but that’s beside the point. Sigh.

You are okay. Super Speeder is 75 and above on a two lane road or 85 and above on other roads.

LOL at "you are OK". On your license and $115.00 fine.

Okay is subjective, I agree, but it means you won't get the additional $200 fine from the state so it is a little okay since they did admit they were at fault. I can't believe they were even enforcing the speed limit!

Exactly. Like it sucks, and I do feel like that clearly should be a 65mph road but I can live with a regular ticket. My driver record is very clean regardless, so sure it’ll probably be a bummer on my insurance rates but I feel lucky I won’t deal with the super speeder stuff. It was me just not paying attention.

I am surprised cops don’t patrol that road all the time, with how relatively straight and interstate-like it seems, I bet people are going way faster than 55 on it all the time.
