The best places would be in the rural parts of Bryan County or Effingham County. And how much would depend on land and location!

Anyone that is seriously considering moving into this area and having horses, should be aware that there is a big problem right now with some mosquito carried diseases. It's some sort of encephilitis but I can't remember the correct name.

Hopefully it will be under better control soon.

Are you sure it is a big problem here?

Well no, since I don't have any horses myself. However, last summer it was serious enough that the newspaper had more than one report on it. Since it is something that pops up now and then, and the article seemed to think that it was worse than usual, I assume that it might be something that anyone interested in horses should know.

And it's not the West Nile Virus. It's something else. I wish I could think of the name, but I can't. It is an encephilitis that is carried by mosquitos and does not effect humans.

Equine encephalitis. CDC Fact Sheet: Eastern Equine Encephalitis - CDC Division of Vector-Borne Infectious Diseases (DVBID)
It's uncommon, but a serious problem. Horses can be vaccinated against it, I believe. Humans can also get it but it is rare. There's no human vaccine.

Default Horse Farms In Savannah

Nothing intown. Rincon has some land and South Carolina but that's about it and very expensive. I am paying $450 for full board in Rincon.
