The Ottawa Farms property in Bloomingdale will be developed into a logistics park that when fully built out will be home to 5 million sq ft and 1,000 jobs. It looks like the Jimmy DeLoach Parkway extension is already bringing development before it even opens.

Quote:
More than 5 million square feet of warehouse space could be coming to Bloomingdale Road as part of a proposed industrial development by McCraney Property Company and Ottawa Farms.

Phase one of the project would include five warehouses with a total of 3,672,950 square feet. A future building phase would bring an additional four warehouses totaling 2,213,400 square feet.

The state put the parkway in? I thought it was the county. I could be wrong.

Anyway, as I’ve said many times, development will come and change the sleepy town of Bloomingdale whether they like it or not. Money seems to look good to the mayor. I rest my case.

Yes the State (GDOT) is responsible for the construction/inspection/maintenance of all parkways in GA. They pay Contractors to build the parkways. GDOT oversees/inspects construction. I used to work for GDOT 2000-2004 here in Savannah-Engineering Technician, Construction Inspector 1 & 2 on the Pooler Parkway Ph 2 & Truman Parkway Ph 4. GDOT & the Contractor will maintain the parkway for about a year or so and then turn it over to the city, town or county.
